Hi, I'm Jeromy Winter.
I am an educator, literacy specialist, course developer, and continuing education instructor with more than two decades of experience working with students and teachers. I created Teacher's Learning Connection to make professional learning flexible, engaging, practical, and worth your time.
An Educator First
The courses I create are shaped by the same question I ask as a teacher: How will this learning matter when I return to my students?
My career in education began in the elementary classroom, where I taught young learners and developed a lasting interest in literacy, curriculum, and meaningful learning experiences. Over the years, my work has expanded to include reading intervention, school libraries, professional development, adult education, teacher coaching, and university continuing education.
Those different roles have given me the opportunity to work with children, classroom teachers, adult learners, families, and fellow educators. They have also reinforced something I believe strongly: professional learning should not simply give teachers more work. It should deepen their knowledge, spark curiosity, introduce useful resources, and produce ideas they can carry back into their classrooms.

Eight years as a teacher librarian strengthened my work with research, primary sources, digital literacy, technology, inquiry, diverse resources, and information-rich instruction.
Continuing Education Instructor
Since 2011, I have developed and taught online California history courses for educators through Fresno Pacific University's Continuing Education program.

Why California History?
California history is filled with remarkable places, complicated stories, diverse communities, and people whose experiences help explain both the state and the nation. I believe history becomes more meaningful when we connect it to actual places, voices, objects, photographs, documents, and stories.
My courses are designed to help educators make those connections. Whether the topic is the Gold Rush, Los Angeles, California's missions, Monterey, Sacramento, the Mother Lode, or Japanese American incarceration, the goal is not simply to collect facts. It is to explore history deeply enough that you can tell its stories more thoughtfully and meaningfully to your students.
